Following my ACL surgery, I have had to re-learn a lot of things like running, jumping, sprinting, and even skipping.
For the first 10 months, I had basic physical therapy. A couple of months before I was due to return to wrestling, I still wasn’t feeling ready and was very worried that I wouldn’t make it.
I was then recommended to Healthy Baller, a physical therapy center that specializes in getting athletes strength and technique back so that they could return to sport.
I went in for my initial testing and my results were not great and I knew it was still going to be a long journey.
I worked with Dr. Gaby Go to gain my strength, mobility, and confidence to return to sport. I am now wrestling because of her. She has pushed me and helped me in every session that we have had. She pushes me past the point of what I think I can do and always encourages me to do better.
The best thing is she always has a smile on her face and makes each session fun. I am very grateful to have had her as my PT specialist and I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn't for her.

Running is my happy place, and when two stress fractures and poor marathon training left me completely unable to run, I started in-person PT with Gaby and committed to recovery and rebuilding my strength. Gaby would explain the purpose of each strength-building exercise and identify the weaknesses in my hips, glutes, and quads that made me prone to injury. PT sessions became therapy for me. I am so happy to be running pain free again and training for the Chicago marathon! If you’re considering running-focused PT, know that you’ll experience a complete shift in mindset about strength and run training. For me, it went from something I never did to my #1 priority.

I had been dealing with calf pain for months every time I tried to run. That pain eventually led to me getting out of shape because I couldn’t run for more than a few minutes. I’m part of the Army National Guard and need to be able to run. I came to Gaby when I couldn’t resolve the issue myself. Gaby is very thorough with her examination. She paid close attention to every minute move I made and took not only a specific approach to my calf problem but also a global approach and addressed other areas of weakness as well. I received some of the best care possible from her. Gaby follows up constantly with me and is a huge supporter. Through working with her, I was able to get back to running problem free and return to doing things I love such as playing recreational sports. I just recently passed my PT test for the NG without any issues. I would be in really bad shape if it wasn’t for Gaby. She is truly dedicated to her patients!

I decided to work with Gaby for my run and strength training for Chicago marathon and I am so happy I did! We worked on muscle imbalances I have from previous knee injuries. On race day, I was able to knock 6 minutes off my previous PR, qualify for Boston, and more importantly, I felt confident throughout the whole race and never felt like I was running out of steam. I was able to negative split the last 10K and finish very strong. I had never felt that way in previous marathons!! Thank you Gaby for holding me accountable and helping me crush my goals.

I've been running recreationally since 2018 and raced here and there, but had trouble knowing how to adjust my training every time life got in the way. I knew I wanted to take my running to the next level, but I needed help. That’s when I found Go Run Stronger. Coach Alex is so understanding when it comes to my busy schedule. She knows how to schedule tough workouts to push me forward, but adjusts my weeks when my body calls for some rest. I also joined the GRS strength training app and can fit in three strength sessions per week that I know are targeting the right muscles. After running a half marathon in July I decided I needed a run coach and started working with Alex. A few weeks after I started working with her, I noticed I was starting to feel like a much stronger runner. I ended up running a 3:28 at CIM and knocked 20 min off my previous marathon time! I had been an avid runner for a number of years. Then work seemed to get in the way and I found myself getting very out of shape and sitting in a desk chair all day. I felt that I needed to work on my overall strength to get back into running. I considered hiring a personal trainer but that was going to be too expensive.
So I started to look for training programs online. The problem I found was that they were not flexible and they did not have the variety I was looking for. Most importantly there was nobody to talk to to get advice and make adjustments.
I was thrilled to find Gaby. The variety and type of exercises was exactly what I was looking for. I have been working with Gaby for multiple lift cycles and couldn’t be happier with the programming. Gaby is responsive to questions and making adjustments based on my input. I was impressed enough to encourage my wife to use Gaby to train for a marathon.

I suffered from over-training throughout college which led to a bad IT band injury. I stopped running for over a year and stuck to other sports that didn’t involve as much running.
When I had the idea to start again and potentially do a marathon, coming across Gaby’s Instagram was a blessing! Given Gaby’s similar college athletic background and her impressive DPT credentials I knew we would work great together!
She set me up for success from the start. The expectations and plans were clear and easy to follow. Her run and strength training was detailed and customized.
She altered the plan when needed, prioritized my recovery, and I finished training strong! I seriously couldn’t have ran my first marathon successfully and with a sub-3:30 time without Gaby!

Right away, Gaby listened and provided me with options and a plan to get me back to running and playing my favorite sport, pain free.
